NYC FireShift

Privacy Policy

Effective July 19, 2026

NYC FireShift is built to keep your information on your device. This policy describes what the app does and does not do with data.

What we collect

Nothing. NYC FireShift has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics SDKs, and no advertising. We do not collect, store, or sell personal information.

Your records

Your shift profile, calendar overrides, and logbook entries (overtime, mutuals, leave, notes) are stored only on your device. They are never transmitted to us. Backups and CSV exports are files you create and control.

Screen Time (optional)

If you enable Study Focus, the app uses Apple's Family Controls framework to shield apps you choose during a session you start. Authorization and app selections are handled by iOS; this information stays on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else.

Reference library

When you browse or download library content (NYC Fire Code, Fire Department rules), the app requests that text from our content server. These requests contain no account identifiers and are not used to build profiles. Downloaded content is stored on your device for offline use.

Notifications

Tour reminders and daily notes are scheduled locally on your device. We do not operate a push-notification service that receives your schedule.

Third parties

The app links to official government sources (e.g., nyc.gov) for reference documents. When you open those links, the destination site's own policies apply.

Children

The app is intended for adult fire-service members and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
